We rented a scooter today and explored the country side. Stopped off at a pagoda. As soon as we cruised off the beaten track people were yelling & waving at us to come into their homes and have a drink or something to eat. We decided to take up the offer from a group of young ins. They were so accommodating. They took pictures with us, had the music blasting. All the neighbours were there. They even gave us a tea for the road! After that we saw some rice fields, factories and had a java at a small shop while people watching. The small tradesman shops seem very archaic and disheveled however there is amazing craftsmanship to be seen. We were taking pictures of a cow and a gentlemen came over and wanted me to pet the cow. They treat the animals with a lot of respect. People in the small villages get so excited when they see you. It's almost dangerous if their driving cause their so shocked to see us it makes them swerve. I bought five shirts for $12.50 today as well. The ladies were really helpful trying to find ones that would fit me. In the evening we had a couple coconuts and beers on the deck of our hotel over looking the busy evening action of My Tho. Tomorrow we are off to Can Tho. More adventures to be had!
