Phnom Phen Cambodia. The Killing Fields.

Eddie and I spent two days in Phnom Phen. We rented a tuk tuk and went to the Killing Fields. It was awful to see all the torture that the Khmer Rouge inflicted on the men, woman, children and babies of Cambodia. We're happy we went though. It's important to see the actual sites of the horrible things that have taken place historically to help put them in perspective. But it saddens your heart.
On a lighter note, the nations capital is lively at night with people dancing together in huge groups in the parks. It's so intriguing to see the cultural differences. Yet another indication of how up tight and closed in people can be in the west. People from every age group partake here, little inhibition is apparent, pretty cool. Alanna and I had our first minor episode of gut rot here. nothing crazy though. And not bad considering we are 3 weeks in and have been eating and drinking pretty much everything. Stayed at the number 9 hotel, which we would recommend. Off to Siem Reap to explore, talk soon!
